The Monster Factory graduates include: Big Show, Bam Bam Bigelow, Balls Mahoney, Sheamus, D'Lo Brown, Chris Harris, King Kong Bundy, & many others. Let's get to this very in depth interview with the leader of the Monster Factory Mr. Danny Cage.

For the readers who may not know who you are why not give a little background of who you are & how you got into the Wrestling business? When you were growing up were you a wrestling fan or no and if not where you aware of it?

DC: My name is Danny Cage and I am the Head trainer at the Monster Factory in Paulsboro, NJ. Like most I grew up loving pro wrestling. My father called me into the living room to watch I believe Spectrum wrestling on Prism. It was The Iron Sheik vs Sgt. Slaughter. I was hooked. I thought they were two real life super heroes beating the hell out of each other. It doesn't get any better than that. Then as I grew older The Monster factory started making waves! Bam-Bam Bigelow & Pretty Boy Larry Sharpe! It wasn't too far from me either. So I began making plans to pursue a career in pro wrestling. This was the late 80s early 90s so I would just buy old back issues of PWI etc. Studying match tape. I would record every single wrestling show that was on. I'd watch them live so I'd cut out all commercials. Then I'd watch the matches back in slow motion and take notes. I also started researching script writing and character development.

My father wanted me to go to college but I would have none of that. I wrestled 5 years in school so I'd have an amateur back ground as a good foundation. This is what I wanted. So my father said come to Florida & get in real good shape. Show me that you want it & I will pay for it. So I left NJ at age 20 & flew to Florida to stay with my father. I would get up every morning at 5 am & work out. I'd jog, do sprints, hit the weights, swim, then bed by 9pm. Then up at 5am again. I did this for a couple months. Flew home & set up my tryout with Larry Sharpe's Monster Factory. I can still remember walking into the old Monster Factory at the Route 30 Marketplace in Clementon NJ. It reeked of cigar smoke & sweat. I knew I was home. Larry had me sign a waiver & into the ring I went. Glenn (Thrasher from the Headbangers) & Chaz (Mosh from the Headbangers) put me through my tryout. I nailed it. I took the back bumps, Front bumps, ran the ropes the works. Larry looked at me and said "When do ya wanna start?" I told him tomorrow. My dad was paying for it! I drove home as fast as I could. Called my dad & told him the good news. When my dad heard, he said simply this "I aint paying for that shit. I didn't think you'd make it" So I hung up the phone. Sat back on the bed and stared at the ceiling. Thinking to myself? "Who the f*** does that to their kid?"

I moved to North Carolina a short time after that. I began collecting debts for a bookie & working door at a couple clubs. All my friends in Carolina were huge wrestling fans. They kept telling me to go back to NJ & do it. To make it happen. I remember bumping into the wrestler Toad. Who at the time was wrestling in the area. My friends told him my story. He looked at me and said "Hell, ya look more like a rassler than I do. Go do it" So that's what I did. I began training in 1998 at the Monster Factory. I hung it up in 2006 after numerous injuries. My last match was against QT Marshall. He was just starting out. After that I was contacted by Larry to train the kids at the Monster Factory in 2011. After a short time there I began running everything; the training, the social media, the website, the marketing, booking the shows, & scheduling birthday parties. You name it and I did it. It took a while but after Larry saw the results and my dedication Larry told me that the Monster Factory was in good hands and that he couldn't be happier leaving it to me. Larry is still in the loop though. He comes in almost every night. Be it to show a few holds or just tell a few old stories, his presence is very uplifting. Not to mention The Blue Meanie & Wild Bill Wiles (Bilvis Wesley) also come by to help train the students.

Who is the best opponent you have been in the ring with & who did you enjoy feuding with the most?

DC: I enjoyed wrestling Cliff Compton & Luis the Punisher Martinez. Was always fun.

Part 2 of the interview will be up soon. Thanks to Mr. Cage for a very in depth interview and I look forward to possibly working together again in the future
