Over the last week the wrestling world has been somewhat shaken by the recent retirements from two very well liked individuals in the wrestling. The interesting part of this is that both of these men come from totally different walks of the business. One has spent most of his professional career if not all of his professional career within the ranks of the WWE, and the other guy has never spent anytime employed by the WWE, but had been one of the founding fathers of the TNA X-Division in a way. I speak of Santino Marella & Petey Williams. Both of these men announced their retirements at shows over Fourth of July Weekend. Just to clarify, Santino retired as an Active Wrestler but Petey retired from the ring permanently.
Both men were apart of great moments in their respected companies and will be remembered by all the fans who had the pleasure of seeing them compete in the ring. WWE has never had someone debut like Santino when they were in Italy, Santino accepted Umaga's challenge and won the Intercontinental Title that night. I also will never forget the first I saw by far the most dangerous finishing move in wrestling history the Canadian Destroyer which was the move that made Petey Williams the most unique wrestler in TNA. Below are two videos for both men as a Thank You for all they have done for the wrestling business over the years. I also just want share something else saying that at Elimination Chamber 2011 when Santino was the final elimination and the crowd was incredibly behind him that moment gave me goose bumps.
Petey Williams & Santino Marella, I hope you enjoy retirement and thanks for the memories!!
