This past Monday night on RAW, WWE began airing some eerily mysterious videos which point to the date of February 21, 2011, the night after the Elimination Chamber PPV. The videos appear to be promoting the debut or return of an impending Superstar. Since the first one aired on Monday night, the speculation across the web has run rampant.

“There were black boots! And a trenchcoat!!”

“The person was walking into an abandoned house, like an empty soul ZOMG!!1!”

“It was raining!!!!!!!! Oh my god the rainnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn”

Clearly, this thing has people talking. So I thought that I’d throw in my 2 cents and let you know who (or what) I think will be showing up on 2-21-11:

Awesome Kong

We all know that she’s signed to the company. It’s only a matter of time before she makes her debut. She’s an imposing and instantly recognizable figure. Keeping her full appearance shrouded in mystery could add an extra shock to her eventual reveal.

Skip Sheffield

He started off as the “Yip Yip Yip What It Do!” Happy-Go-Lucky Cowboy. A veritable Jimmy Wang Yang on HGH. Skip’s been off TV for a few months now. Perhaps this is their way of reintroducing him to the audience with a new “Vengeful Gunslinger” character.

Jake “The Snake” Roberts

If you saw the film Beyond the Mat then you know that in his everyday life Jake has a penchant for trenchcoats. He’s also one of the most ominous and brooding Superstars in the history of WWE. If you re-watch the video, the numbers on the end kind of slither onto the screen, almost like a snake. Maybe this is the night when Jake will return and be revealed as the 2nd inductee into this year’s Hall of Fame.

The Boogeyman

Everyone’s favorite midnight monster. Who wouldn’t love to see the Boogeyman come back, but this time with a full-on DARK character, the way that it should have been from the beginning. He could be the Superstar that infiltrates the others wrestlers’ minds and brings their nightmares to life. The video on Monday was certainly nightmarish.

Jacob

I’m a LOST fanatic and the empty cabin reminded me of the sanctuary that once housed that island’s protector. Vince McMahon has always been a bit of a step behind the rest of the pop-culture parade. Maybe he’s planning a LOST tie-in for WrestleMania this year. No? Horrible guess? Fair enough.

Justin Bieber

WWE is reportedly in talks with the “star” to make an appearance at WrestleMania XXVII. Surely this news is equal to, or greater than, the evil that was suggested in Monday’s clip.

Sting

This is the most talked about rumor of the bunch. Could it be that after 20 years of making a legendary name for himself in competing promotions, The Icon will finally grace a WWE ring? Everyone would love to see it happen, especially if it led to a match against the Undertaker at ‘Mania. With WWE’s recent TNA-poaching of Kevin Nash and Booker T, it’s not totally out of the realm of possibility. It’s a longshot, but it would also be a wrestling fan’s dream come true. And I know it’s a fake and a Dark Knight photoshop ripoff. But tell me this picture doesn’t get you amped up for this potential clash…

So those are my predictions. I’m excited to see who it will actually turn out to be. But at the same time I’m bracing myself for the most likely, and most disappointing, scenario – it’s just an ad for the umpteenth return of the Undertaker.
